Inspired by his adventures across the continent, Thomas began drafting the map on his fridge in Montreal. After several years refining his cartography and colored pencil skills, he decided to revisit the project. What followed was an odyssey. Five years and thousands of hours later, North America: Portrait of a Continent was finally complete. This close-up selection from the original spans the middle latitudes of the map, from tundra to tropics. It highlights the continents geography, cities, and wildlife in stunning detail, from the Great Bear Rainforest on the Pacific Coast to Puerto Rico in the Atlantic.
